About Torbay Singers

The Torbay Singers is an auditioned chamber choir based in Torquay and South Devon. The choir celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2017-18.  The group welcomes members from the Devon area and performs a varied and exciting programme from Renaissance to modern, through baroque and classical masterpieces to jazz and contemporary music. 

In recent years the choir has developed its reputation as one of the leading singing groups in the region. In 2019 we welcomed our new Musical Director, Matthew Cann with a concert of French music, including Duruflé’s haunting requiem. After the pause for the pandemic, we began again with a Christmas concert of Vaughan Williams' Fantasia on Christmas Carols, and Rutter's Gloria complete with its stunning brass accompaniment.

This year we look forward to a full programme including Winter, Spring and Summer concerts.
